City of Midland Traffic Alert

[ARCHIVED] Trafffic Alert and Lane Closures (Oct. 20-26)

The City of Midland Engineering Services Department has the following projects under construction. Road closures and traffic alerts for each project are listed below:

Lamesa Road Pedestrian Access Improvement
The Contractor working for the City of Midland is installing sidewalks along the east side of Lamesa Road between Wadley Avenue and Scharbauer Drive. Lane closures will be used along Lamesa Road between Spruce Avenue and Dormard Avenue. All properties adjacent to the work zone will remain accessible.

FY 2013 Mill/Overlay Project:
All major construction items for the Fiscal Year 2013 Mill/Overlay Project are complete. The contractor working for the City of Midland will continue the clean-up phase of the project the week of October 21 at Golf Course Road between Tilden Street and Fairgrounds Road and Briarwood Avenue between Avalon Drive and State Highway 158. During the clean-up phase, two-way traffic will be maintained at all times

COMPASS: City-Wide Paving:
The Contractor working for the City of Midland will begin construction of sidewalk and drainage improvements along Idlewilde Drive east of Bush Elementary School the week of October 21. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times, and all properties will remain accessible.

Illinois Avenue and Stonybrook Drive Drainage Improvements
Weather permitting, the City of Midland Transportation Division will continue a drainage improvement project at the Illinois Avenue and Stonybrook Drive intersection the week of October 21. The project will include the installation of a concrete valley gutter and pavement repairs. During the project, lane closures will be used on Illinois Avenue. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times, and all properties will remain accessible.


Motorists are advised to avoid these work zones if possible.
