[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Police Chief Search Progresses

Jimmie Sevey of Nacogdoches has withdrawn from consideration for personal reasons.

The City of Midland has narrowed down finalists to fill the role of Police Chief.

The finalists are:
Seth Herman of Midland
Jimmie Sevey of Nacogdoches, and
Phillip Smith, Jr. of Roswell.
Herman, Sevey, and Smith were selected as finalists from over 34 applications for the position.

On December 11, 2018 the three candidates will participate in 3 rounds of interviews with members of law enforcement, city management and others. That evening, the candidates will attend a community reception at the Midland Municipal Court. The reception will be held from 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM and is open to the public. There will be an opportunity to hear from each candidate and ask questions.    

Interim Chief Seth Herman will continue leading the Police Department until a new Chief is selected.
