The City of Midland has collected this month's sales tax revenue from the State Comptroller's Office. The total amount of revenue received was $4,360,197.
This month's figure reflects a 8.93 percent increase, or a $353,789 increase, from February 2013.
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2013-2014 is up 10.08 percent, or a $1,629,038 increase, from last year's totals at this time. Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $17,797,992.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; February collection is based on December sales.
