City of Midland News Release

[ARCHIVED] Public Pool Reservations and Opening

The City of Midland Parks and Recreation Division will begin taking reservations for private pool parties and pavilion rentals at Doug Russell and Washington Family Aquatic Center on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at12:01 a.m. online and 8:00 am in person. The pools are set to open on May 25th.  Pools will be available for reservations starting June 3rd.


You may book a party online at the City of Midland’s webpage under the Parks and Recreation tab (www.midlandtexas.gov), you can book your party in person at the MLK Center (2300 Butternut Lane) or Parks Office (2701 W. Elizabeth). Payments can made in person with cash, check or credit card. Online payments must be made by credit card only. Pool reservations will be 7 pm to 9 pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights only.  Fees are $250.00 deposit and a rental fee of $700.00 (fee includes lifeguards)


Pavilion rental at Doug Russell will also begin at this time. The Pavilion can be rented on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in two-hour increments 12 pm – 2 pm, 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. On Sunday the pavilion can be rented from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. The fees for the pavilion are Deposit $100 and Rental Fee of $100. These fees do not include the entry fee into the facility.


You may also sign up for Swim Lessons online or at one of these locations. Punch Passes are available at the Parks office and the MLK Community Center and the two pools. Prices for punch cards are 10 punches $15, 25 punches $35 and 75 punches $75.


Lifeguard applications are still being accepted.
