City of Midland Traffic Alert

[ARCHIVED] Traffic Alert and Lane closure March 1-8

The City of Midland Engineering Services Department has the following projects under construction. Road closures and traffic alerts for each project are listed below:

Lamesa Road Pedestrian Access Improvement
The Contractor working for the City of Midland is installing sidewalks along Lamesa Road south of Scharbauer Drive. Lane closures will be used along Lamesa Road between Hamby Avenue and Cedar Avenue. All properties adjacent to the work zone will remain accessible.

COMPASS: City-Wide Paving:
The Contractor working for the City of Midland is preparing Stokes Avenue (Rankin Highway to Main Street) and Belmont Street (Gist Avenue to Wolcott Avenue) for asphalt paving. Stokes Avenue is closed to thru traffic between Rankin Highway and South Main Street. Belmont Street and Colorado Street are closed between Gist Avenue and Wolcott Avenue.

Market Street Water and Wastewater Extension
The Contractor working for the City of Midland will begin construction on utility extensions in February. Construction will limit the traffic in the Market Street right-of-way south of Basin Street. All properties adjacent to the work zone will remain accessible.

Sanitary Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation Project
The contractor working for the City of Midland will continue a project intended to stabilize the wall of a sanitary sewer manhole located at the intersection of Garden City Highway and Lamesa Road the week of March 3. This project will impact north and south bound motorists on Lamesa Road and east and west bound motorists on Garden City Highway. During the project, lane closures will be used on Lamesa Road and Garden City Highway, and left turns in all directions will be prohibited. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed early during the week of March 3.
