A tip from the public resulted in the arrest of one and identification of another suspect in a burglary and credit/debit card abuse case.
Christopher Blaine Hopper (DOB 11-30-94) was arrested Monday in connection with a Midland Crime Stoppers tip received on February 28. Midland police are currently trying to locate Rodger Edward DeLeon Jr. (DOB 5-14-94), who was also identified through the tip.
On Jan. 21, the victim of these suspects discovered that his vehicle had been burglarized while parked in his garage. The items stolen were a wallet that contained credit cards, a blue Samsung Galaxy S4 cell phone and a black iPod.
The suspects later used the victim’s credit cards twice at Wal-Mart to purchase clothing and once at Kent Kwik to purchase sandwiches and a drink.
Hopper was arrested for burglary and two counts of credit/debit card abuse, and DeLeon will face charges for burglary and credit/debit card abuse.
