[ARCHIVED] Midland Health and Senior Services Provides Free Diabetes Screening

Midland Health and Senior Services is providing free diabetes screening services as part of its ongoing efforts to tackle chronic disease in the community.

Residents who are 18 years and older can receive free blood glucose screening from 1-4 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays at Midland Health and Senior Services (3303 W. Illinois Ave, Space 22). The test can be done in a fasting method, meaning after you have not eaten anything for at least eight hours, or in a random fashion at any time of the day. Those requiring further care will be referred to the Midland Community Health Clinic at 2500 Delano Ave.

The screening, which is funded by a grant through Midland Memorial Hospital, furthers the Health Department's goal of facilitating access to medical services and promoting overall community preventative health care.

Please call the Midland Health & Senior Services if you have any questions at 432-681-7645.
