City of Midland Traffic Alert

[ARCHIVED] City wide traffic alerts and lane closures

The City of Midland Engineering Services Department has the following projects under construction. Road closures and traffic alerts for each project are listed below:

Lamesa Road Pavement Reconstruction:

The Contractor working for the City of Midland is scheduled to begin the paving phase of the project on the west side of Lamesa Road between Dormard Avenue and Walnut Lane. Phase 1 is scheduled to begin on Monday and will comprise the area from Dormard Avenue to Hickory Avenue. Phase 2 will comprise the area from Elm Avenue to Parker Avenue. Phase 3 will comprise the area from Parker Avenue to Walnut Lane. Beginning in the morning, the southbound lanes of each phase will be completely barricaded off. It will take approximately one day to complete the paving in each phase, barring any unforeseen problems. The intersections, alley entrances, and driveways that are within each phase will be closed off for at least 24 hours after they have been paved. Traffic will be directed to the eastern, northbound lanes of Lamesa Road to a single lane in both directions.

COMPASS: City-Wide Paving:

The Contractor working for the City of Midland is preparing Colorado Street for asphalt placement. Colorado Street will be closed between Gist Avenue and Wolcott Avenue.
In addition, the Contractor will be installing concrete sidewalk on the east side of Fairgrounds Road between Nobles Avenue and Golf Course Road. Single lane interruptions will be used on the northbound lanes Fairgrounds Road to complete the project. All properties adjacent to the work zone will remain accessible.

Meadowpark Drive and Pine Meadow Drive

The City of Midland Transportation Division will begin a drainage improvement project at Meadowpark Drive and Pine Meadow Drive on Monday May 19, 2014. The project includes the installation of a 10’ wide concrete valley gutter. During the project, the 4900 block of Pine Meadow Drive will be closed to through traffic. All properties will remain accessible during the project.
