City of Midland Traffic Alert

[ARCHIVED] City wide traffic alerts and lane closures

Mill & Overlay:

The contractor working for the City of Midland will continue the Fiscal Year 2014 Mill/Overlay project at Illinois Avenue between Midland Drive and Andrews Highway. The contractor will begin the week by placing a new surface course to the west bound lanes of Illinois Avenue between Midland Drive and Midkiff Road. After the new surface course is complete at Illinois Avenue between Midland Drive and Midkiff Road, this roadway section will be opened to traffic. The contractor will then begin construction to the east bound lanes of Illinois Avenue between Midkiff Road and Andrews Highway. Two-way traffic will be maintained at Illinois Avenue during the project. Residential and collector streets adjacent to Illinois Avenue will be closed for short periods of time during construction. All properties adjacent to the work zone will remain accessible.

Wolcott Avenue:

The City’s Contractor will continue the Fiscal Year 2014 Utility Extension Program at Wolcott Avenue between Baird Street and Belmont Street. During the project, Wolcott Avenue may be temporarily closed or reduced to a single lane. The intersections at Baird Street and Belmont Street may also have partial closures.

Lamesa Road Pavement Reconstruction:

The City’s Contractor is scheduled to continue raising water valves and manholes along Lamesa Road between Walnut Lane and Dormard Avenue. There will be daytime single lane closures at various locations.

COMPASS: City-Wide Paving:

The City’s Contractor is working at various locations:
• Fort Worth Street will be closed to thru traffic between Gist Avenue and Hicks Avenue for sidewalk work.
• Colorado Street between Stokes Avenue and Gist Avenue will have minimum traffic interruptions for sidewalk work.
• Stokes Avenue between Belmont Street and Main Street will have partial lane closures for water valve adjustments.
