The Midland Municipal Scholarship Fund will hold its 7th Annual Chili Cook Off from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 7 at The First Baptist Church (2104 W. Louisiana Ave.).
Proceeds will benefit The City of Midland Employees Scholarship Fund. Each year, this fund awards education scholarships to City of Midland employee and their children. The Scholarship Fund awarded $8,250.00 dollars to deserving students last year. Cookers are invited to join in on a healthy competition, with lots of friendly faces and prizes. Several local businesses will be supporting the event by bringing door prizes and more.
This year's Chili Showdown will begin the rivalry between City of Midland and Midland County for yearlong bragging rights and of course, possession of the traveling trophy.
The winner of the best overall chili will win a cash prize in the amount of the total registration fees.

Advanced ticket purchases will go on sale the week before the event and a list of ticket sellers will be announced when they go on sale.
