The Midland Police Department will recognize National Police Memorial Week with a memorial bicycle ride on May 11 and a memorial service on May 16.
Memorial Ride:
The annual bicycle ride to honor fallen officers in Texas is scheduled for Sunday, May 11 at 1 p.m. from the south parking lot of the Midland Police Department at 601 N. Loraine. The ride will be 16 miles long in memory of the Texas peace officers who have been killed in the line of duty in the past year. The last three miles will be in honor of the three Midland Police Officers who have been killed while protecting our city. For more information, call 432-685-7964.
Memorial Service:
The annual memorial service for fallen officers in Texas is scheduled for Friday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at the ClayDesta Atrium (6 Desta Drive). Those who have lost their lives in the line of duty will be honored during the ceremony for their service and sacrifice.
