[ARCHIVED] Pavement Work Begins on Lamesa Road

Milling and pavement removal is expected to begin this week as part of the ongoing Lamesa Road project.

The contractor working for the City of Midland will begin this phase of the project on the west side of Lamesa Road between Dormard Avenue and Walnut Avenue. Traffic will be narrowed down to a single lane in both directions and routed to the eastern half of Lamesa Road. All properties will remain accessible across the construction zone.

The Lamesa Road Project is an ongoing, thorough rehabilitation of the Lamesa Road Corridor that has so far included water main replacement, traffic signal replacement, pedestrian access improvements including 3 new miles of sidewalks, and wastewater main and manhole rehabilitation. The reconstruction/resurfacing of Lamesa Road that begins this week is the final phase of the project.

Drivers are asked to observe and obey all traffic control devices to maintain a safe work zone.
