[ARCHIVED] Citywide Traffic Alerts and Lane Closures

The City of Midland Engineering Services Department has the following projects under construction. Road closures and traffic alerts for each project are listed below:

Lamesa Road Pavement Reconstruction:

The contractor working for the City of Midland is completing the milling, asphalt pavement removal, and excavation phase on the northbound lanes of Lamesa Road between Dormard Avenue and Walnut Lane. The contractor is scheduled to begin shaping the subgrade surface on the northbound lanes of Lamesa Road between Dormard Avenue and Walnut Lane. Traffic will be directed to the western, southbound lanes of Lamesa Road to a single lane in both directions. All properties will remain accessible across the construction zone except for the east intersection of Spruce Avenue and Lamesa Road; these properties will only be accessible from Spruce Avenue on the east side of Lamesa Road.

COMPASS: City-Wide Paving:

The contractor working for the City of Midland is placing sidewalk on the east side of Colorado Street. Colorado Street will be closed between Gist Avenue and Wolcott Avenue.
The contractor will also be installing concrete sidewalk on the east side of Fairgrounds Road between Nobles Avenue and Golf Course Road. Single lane interruptions will be used on the northbound lanes Fairgrounds Road to complete the project. All properties adjacent to the work zone will remain accessible.

If possible, motorists are advised to avoid this work zones.

Texas Avenue Curb and Gutter Repair:

On Monday June 2, the City of Midland’s Transportation Division will begin repairing damaged curb at the 200 block of West Texas Avenue along the north curb line. The project will include the removal and replacement of damaged curb and gutter. During the project, curbside parking will be prohibited. Daytime lane closures may be used, but one-way eastbound traffic flow on Texas Avenue will be maintained at all times. All properties adjacent to the work zone will remain accessible.

If possible, motorists are advised to avoid this work zone.
