[ARCHIVED] Police Searching for Vehicle in Fatal Pedestrian Accident

UPDATE: The victim in this accident has been identified as 39-year-old Larry Dewayne Glover. Police were not able to locate any next of kin to notify in this case and are still searching for the second vehicle involved.

---

The Midland Police Department is looking for the second vehicle involved in a fatal pedestrian accident Monday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the 4700 block of West Loop 250 North in reference to a pedestrian crash at approximately 6:12 a.m. Monday morning and found a male victim lying in the center of the eastbound lanes of Loop 250.

The investigation into the accident revealed that the victim was crossing from the south side of the lanes to the north side when he was struck by a red Dodge pickup truck. The driver stopped and remained at the scene. The victim was then struck by a dark-colored pickup that did not stop.

The victim was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries. MPD's traffic division is currently seeking the driver of the dark-colored pickup that struck the victim and left the scene. Anyone with information on this vehicle and/or driver is urged to contact MPD at 432-685-7108.

The accident caused the eastbound lanes of Loop 250 to be closed from Wadley Avenue to Midland Drive for several hours; those lanes have since been reopened.

The investigation continues and next of kin has not been notified at this time.
