The City of Midland Engineering Services Department has the following projects under construction. Road closures and traffic alerts for each project are listed below:
Lamesa Road Pavement Reconstruction:
The Contractor working for the City of Midland is scheduled to begin the paving phase of the project on the northbound lanes of Lamesa Road between Walnut Lane and Dormard Avenue. Phase 1 is scheduled to begin on Monday and will comprise the area from Walnut Lane to Cowden Avenue. Phase 2 will comprise the area from Cowden Avenue to Golf Course Road. Phase 3 will comprise the area from Golf Course Road to Magnolia Avenue. Phase 4 will comprise the area from Magnolia Avenue to Dormard Avenue. Beginning on the morning of each phase, the northbound lanes of the phase will be completely barricaded off. It will take approximately one day to complete the paving in each phase, barring any unforeseen problems. The intersections, alley entrances, and driveways that are within each phase will be closed off for at least 24 hours after they have been paved. During all phases, traffic will be directed to the western, southbound lanes of Lamesa Road to a single lane in both directions. Motorists should also exercise caution at the intersection of Loop 250 and Fairgrounds Road where heavy truck traffic will be crossing both eastbound and westbound lanes of the Loop on Fairgrounds Road.
If possible, motorists are advised to avoid this work zone.
