The City hopes to assist a local non-profit organization with the future development of affordable housing through its Community Development Block Grant program.
Midland City Council voted to issue a request for proposals for single-family housing development as part of the Community Development Block Grant program.
Midland City Council approved a request for proposals earlier this month to solicit proposals from non-profit organizations that are seeking to develop single-family affordable housing within the city’s low- and moderate-income Census areas.
The City of Midland will partner with the chosen non-profit(s) by providing approximately $477,000 in federal Community Development Block Grant funds for infrastructure needs or for land purchases needed to develop homes that income-eligible individuals could purchase.
Proposals for the grant funds are due by Aug. 11.
