One man was declared deceased on scene following an accident early Saturday morning.
Midland Police and Fire Departments were called to the scene of a fatal accident at approximately 2:24 a.m. on Saturday in the 8100 block of West Highway 191, where they found 25-year-old Stephen Hill, of Midland, ejected from his vehicle.
The investigation into the accident revealed that Hill had been driving a Ford Explorer Sport Trac eastbound on Highway 191 from FM 1275 when witnesses saw his vehicle veer into the center median and roll over into the westbound lanes. Hill was ejected onto the roadway and was then struck by another vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 191 as its driver attempted to avoid hitting Hill's vehicle. It is believed at this time that Hill had already been unconscious or deceased from his injuries before being struck by the second vehicle. Hill was pronounced deceased on scene.
Witnesses traveling behind Hill's vehicle were in the process of calling police regarding Hill's vehicle weaving on the roadway when the accident happened. Alcohol is being considered as a possible factor in the crash.
Hill was the only occupant in the vehicle and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Next of kin has been notified and the investigation into the accident continues.
