Certified technicians with the Midland Police Department will be available by appointment to check child safety seats and give away a limited number of car seats to those in need during the week of Sept. 15-19.
Officials will be able to tell parents if their car seat is installed correctly, whether the direction of the seat should be rear- or forward-facing, and if it's time to provide a booster seat for their child, in addition to providing car seat safety tips.
Midland citizens in need of a car seat can also make an appointment to receive one of the limited number of car safety seats that MPD was able to obtain through a grant. The child must be present to receive a seat.
Participants will be seen by appointment only from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Sept. 15 and 18 at the Midland Police Department (601 N. Loraine). Please call 432-685-7103 to make your appointment today.
