The City of Midland is now accepting applications for the 2014-2015 Youth Advisory Council. The advisory council is open to any students in grades 9-12 who reside in Midland.
The goal of the youth council is to define specific ways to address community issues as they arise through the development of goals and objectives and recommended actions, as well as to encourage and promote the education of youth regarding city government and the importance of citizen input, participation, and responsibility.
The youth council will assist and advise the mayor and city council on issues concerning the youth of Midland and to serve as youth ambassadors for the City of Midland.
Applications are available at the Parks and Recreation office at MLK Jr. Community Center (2300 Butternut). The deadline for applications is Oct. 3, 2014. For more information, please call 432-685-7355 or 432-685-7381.
