The City of Midland has collected this month's sales tax revenue from the State Comptroller's Office. The total amount of revenue received was $3,665,274.
This month's figure reflects a 22.75 percent increase, or a $679,228 increase, from September 2013.
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2013-2014 is up 13.18 percent, or a $5,050,405 increase, from last year's totals at this time. Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $43,378,823.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; September collection is based on July sales.
