City of Midland's Municipal Court is celebrating Municipal Courts Week with courthouse tours all week and an open house on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
Municipal Courts Week, which takes place throughout Texas Nov. 3-7, is an opportunity to recognize the important role that municipal courts and their personnel play in the criminal justice system. The Midland City Council has declared this week to also be Municipal Courts Week on a local level, and acknowledged the Municipal Court's important role in reducing impaired driving, distracted driving, and other unsafe driving practices.
The public is welcome to visit and tour Midland Municipal Court from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Thursday at 406 E. Illinois Ave. Traffic safety materials, coloring books, cards, stickers and other resources to educate our community on traffic safety will also be exhibited and distributed free of charge throughout the week.
On Wednesday, Nov. 5, the public is invited to attend an open house at the Midland Municipal Court. Refreshments will be served from 2 to 5 p.m.
