[ARCHIVED] City of Midland Accepting Christmas Parade Entries

The City of Midland Parks and Recreation Department is still accepting entries for its Fourth Annual Lighted Christmas Parade.

This year’s parade, which has the theme of “Winter Wonderland in Midland,” will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 in downtown Midland.

Local businesses, residents, schools, churches, and non-profits are invited to submit an application and participate in the parade. Trophies will be awarded for the “Best Lighted Entry” as well as the top three float entries, and new travelling trophies will be given to the “Most Christmas Spirited Band” and the “Outstanding City of Midland Entry.”

The parade’s success over the past three years has been the result of the community’s participation. A total of 81 floats participated last year, and an estimated crowd of 15,000 people came to the downtown area to view the parade.

Please join the City of Midland and help make this year’s event a great success. Registration forms and the rules and regulations are available at www.midlandtexas.gov and at the following locations:
• Midland City Hall (300 N. Loraine)• Martin Luther King Recreation Center (2300 Butternut Lane)

All applications MUST be returned to the Martin Luther King Recreation Center (2300 Butternut Lane), faxed to 432-685-7380 or emailed to jajolly@midlandtexas.gov by 6 p.m. on Dec. 3.
