[ARCHIVED] Three arrested in Big Spring in connection with Midland homicide

Three men have been arrested and charged with murder in connection to a homicide in Midland earlier this month.

Several agencies joined forces in Big Spring on Thursday to serve arrest warrants to 21-year-old Cruz Gutierrez Jr., 22-year-old Michael Anthony Gomez and 23-year-old Tysone Demetrius Barker. The three men were taken into custody without incident with the assistance of the Midland Police Department, U.S. Marshal’s Office, Department of Public Safety and the Big Spring Police Department and Howard County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team.

The three Big Spring residents now face murder charges in connection with the Nov. 10 homicide of 27-year-old Humberto Joshua Ramos. Midland police were called out early that morning to the 500 block of South Carver, where they found Ramos lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Ramos later died at Midland Memorial Hospital.

The suspects are currently in Howard County Jail awaiting extradition back to Midland County. Their bond has been set at $1 million each. The investigation into the incident continues.
