The Midland Police Department now has a larger online presence with the launch of a new Facebook and Twitter page.
In an effort to enhance the lines of communication with citizens and their community partners, Midland police will share press releases, traffic alerts, tips, photos and more on these social networks. The use of Facebook and Twitter will allow the community to stay updated on what’s happening in and around MPD and give an inside look into the department. It will also add to MPD’s current presence online at www.midlandtexas.gov/police, www.CrimeMapping.com and www.NextDoor.com.
"We are continuing to research digital outlets that help us to enhance public safety, interact with the community and share information about the department and our events,” said Police Chief Price Robinson. “Harnessing the power of social media will help us add another layer to our interactions with the public.”
Citizens are encouraged to like “Midland Police Department” on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MidlandTxPD or follow @MidlandTxPD at www.twitter.com/MidlandTxPD to stay informed with the latest news from MPD.
