Any precipitation has become icy due to cold conditions Saturday in Midland, and officials are advising citizens to drive with caution and avoid overpasses, or avoid driving altogether until these conditions pass.
The National Weather Service in Midland expects sleet, freezing rain and snow to accumulate in small amounts in Midland Saturday morning, but first responders are already beginning to see slick road conditions. Overpasses, such as those on Loop 250, are the first to freeze over and citizens are urged to take special precautions in those areas.
TxDOT is currently treating Highway 191 and Loop 250, and City crews are treating local bridges and intersections.
