Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center (2300 Butternut Ln.) will host several events on the afternoon of Monday, Jan. 19 for the MLK Day of Service.

2 - 4 p.m.: Your Community Needs You!Volunteer Expo and Partnering in Education PresentationSponsored by Community & Senior Services of Midland, Inc. and MISD
Vendor booths, live entertainment, and much more!

4 - 5 p.m.: Making Midland Better TogetherA conversation with the Midland Police DepartmentFacilitated by Making an IMPACT, Inc. and Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance

5:30 p.m.: Annual MLK MarchA Historic and Symbolic RemembranceStarting North of Butternut Lane/Oak St. Intersection

6:45 p.m.: Presentation of Annual MLK Community Service AwardRecognizing Our Community LeadersPresented by Midland African American Roots Historical Cultural Arts Council. Inc.

7 p.m.: Main Event: Annual MLK Day Program“Looking Back – Moving Forward”Presented by Negro Business & Professional Women of MidlandFeaturing Midland MLK Community Youth Choir, Macedonia Praise Dancers, and CWC Steppers
Keynote Speaker: Rev. Kenneth Johnson, Pastor of Goodwill Baptist Church
