An Odessa man was pronounced deceased on scene after his vehicle was struck by a car traveling in the wrong direction on Highway 191 in Midland late Sunday evening.
Midland Police and Fire Departments responded to an accident at approximately 11:35 p.m. in the 6100 block of Highway 191, where they discovered 26-year-old Anthony Bennett of Odessa deceased on scene. Bennett had been traveling in the westbound lanes of the highway in a Ford Escort when his vehicle collided head-on with a Nissan Frontier, driven by 26-year-old Joaquin Arce of El Paso, who was traveling in the wrong direction.
Arce was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released for minor injuries. He has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.
Next of kin has been notified.
