The City of Midland would like to welcome Charles "Chuck" Harrington as its new Development Services Director.
Harrington began working with the City on Monday, Nov. 18 and oversees the Planning, Community Development and Code Administration divisions in his new position. He has a lengthy career in public service, including serving as the Director of Planning and Engineering in League City and La Porte, the Director of Development Services in Sugar Land, City Administrator in League City, and most recently as Interim City Manager in Alpine. From 2006-2010, Harrington managed the Southeast Texas area for third-party plan review and inspection company Bureau Veritas out of Houston, where he developed a clientele of 30 municipal and private sectors entities.
Harrington is an Honorary Life Member of Building Officials Association of Texas, of which he was former president and TML board member representing the organization. He is also a former member of the Texas City Management Association and American Planning Association. Harrington served as Chairman of the La Porte Redistricting Committee and Charter Revision Commission in 2012.
