[ARCHIVED] MPD to recognize officers, civilians at 23rd annual awards banquet

The Midland Police Department will hold its annual awards banquet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 26 at Midland Country Club (6101 N. Highway 349).

The banquet is an opportunity to recognize a select group of sworn and civilian personnel for the outstanding job they do for the department and the community.

Award winners are:

Field Operations Bureau:

Supervisor of the Year: Sgt. Doug Crisp
Civilian of the Year: Liz Thornton

Officer of the Year: Officer D’Juan Goswick

Rookie of the Year: Jaye Johnson

Investigative Services Bureau:

Civilian of the Year: Rhiannon Fry

Detective of the Year: Detective Lorenzo Dominguez

Explorer of the Year: Tony Harris

Support Services Bureau:

Supervisor of the Year: Sgt. Pete Dehlinger

Civilian of the Year: Raul Urias

Top Gun: Lt. Layton Fincher

Fitness Award: Officer David Edwards

Fittest Squad: Sgt. Brad Alexander, Joseph Beltran, Douglas Sauls and Hannah Yoxsimer

Chief’s Awards:

Medal of Valor: Detective Jimmy CoxDistinguished Service Medal: Sgt. Mitch Russell

Medal of Service: Officer Ciro Chairez
Medal of Service: Officer Chane Blandford

Retirees Medal of Service: Manuel Beltran, Beverly Holder, Chuck Sims, John R Smith, Darin Clements, Arthur Villarreal, Tony Dickie, Elias Hernandez, Richard Lewis, Robbie Mobley, Jesse Robledo and Sherri Fox

Citizens Appreciation Award: Bobbie Kerrigan, Mark Timmons, Modesta Sanchez and Chris Stokes

Volunteers with the Citizen Police Academy, Citizens On Patrol and Volunteer Parking Enforcement will also be recognized.
