The City of Midland has collected this month's sales tax revenue from the State Comptroller's Office.
The total amount of revenue received was $3,985,594.
This month's figure reflects a 2.72 percent decrease, or a $111,449 decrease, from May 2014.
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2014-2015 is up 9.72 percent, or a $2,763,273 increase, from last year's totals at this time. Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $31,197,725.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; May collection is based on March sales.
