[ARCHIVED] TODAY: MPD to hold swearing-in and promotional ceremony

Twelve recruits of the Midland Police Department will be sworn in and four officers will be promoted during a ceremony at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the Martin Luther King Community Center (2300 Butternut Ln.).

These individuals have successfully met the skills, testing and training requirements as set forth by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and the Permian Basin Law Enforcement Academy. This is the 94th graduating class and they have been training since January 2015.

The new officers will be: Robin Bivens, Miguel Herrera, Elizabeth Jones, Ryan McKay, Joe Mendez, Linvel Mosby, Thomas Navarrete, Jayni Palmer, Brianna Rodriguez, David Sigala, Jeffrey Sommer and Charles Wheeler.

The following officers will also be promoted to the rank of sergeant: Lorenzo Dominguez, Ray Flores, Stephen Truex and Taylor Welch.
