City of Midland, Midland Independent School District and USA Fit are teaming up to host a free run to build community and celebrate National Running Day.
Runners and joggers of all levels are invited to run around the Wadley Barron Park Duck Pond, located at 1001 N. A Street, from 7-8 a.m. on Friday, June 5. The non-competitive event is free for all ages and provides a time for individuals to run or jog at their own pace. Door prizes will also be given away throughout the event.
Parking is available at Bowie Elementary (805 Elk Ave.). Employees of the City of Midland and Midland ISD who are participating are able to use their running bibs from the event to arrive to work at 9 a.m., after the run is completed.
National Running Day, which will officially be celebrated on June 3 around the U.S., is a day when runners everywhere declare their passion for running. The country’s foremost running organizations encourage individuals to join in by planning a run, spreading the running bug to a friend, signing up for a race, or setting a new goal.
