[ARCHIVED] Students invited to enter “Litter Free Midland” poster contest

The Midland Municipal Court is encouraging students to join the ongoing “Not in My Town” movement by challenging them to envision a “Litter Free Midland” through a poster contest from Oct. 5-23.

The contest is open to all first through sixth grade students attending any Midland school or who are homeschooled. Posters must be turned in at the Municipal Court, located at 406 E. Illinois Ave., by Oct. 23 or mailed to Juvenile Services Coordinator David de los Rios at the same address. Participants’ posters will be on display during Municipal Court Week from Nov. 2-6, and those who show the most creativity while sticking to the theme “Litter Free Midland” will be recognized in a special ceremony at the Court.

Posters must be 8.5 by 11 inches and include the name and grade of the student, and the name of the student’s teacher and school on the back of the poster. If homeschooled, the student must include contact information.

For more information, please contact David de los Rios at 432-685-7312 or ddelosrios@midlandtexas.gov. All Midlanders are encouraged to join the "Not in My Town" movement by participating in Keep Midland Beautiful's Make a Difference Day Annual Fall Cleanup on Oct. 3.
