[ARCHIVED] Motorcyclist dies from injuries following accident

A Midland man has succumbed to his injuries following a two-vehicle accident that occurred last week.

David Hernandez Jr., 43, was declared deceased on Tuesday at Midland Memorial Hospital.

At approximately 6:03 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, Midland Police and Fire Departments responded to an accident involving a motorcycle at the intersection of Florida Avenue and Marshall Street. The investigation revealed that the driver of a northbound Cadillac Deville failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign on Marshall Street and struck Hernandez, who was traveling eastbound on Florida Avenue on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Hernandez was not wearing a helmet and was transported to Midland Memorial with critical injuries.

Next of kin has been notified and the investigation continues.
