The City of Midland has collected this month's sales tax revenue from the State Comptroller's Office.
The total amount of revenue received was $2,820,685.
This month's figure reflects a 23.84 percent decrease, or a $883,094 decrease, from January 2015.
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2015-2016 is down 22.08 percent, or a $3,487,456 decrease, from last year's totals at this time. Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $12,306,954.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; January collection is based on November sales.###
