The passenger of a pickup was declared deceased after the vehicle collided with a commercial truck along the north service road of Interstate 20 on Monday morning.
Midland Police and Fire Departments responded to the fatal accident at approximately 7:11 a.m. near the Horseshoe Arena. The investigation revealed that a single unit commercial truck was eastbound on the service road and failed to yield right of way to a westbound Dodge pickup that was attempting to enter I-20 from the service road. The passenger of the pickup, 25-year-old Antonio Guerra-Moreno, of Midland, was declared deceased on scene and the driver of the pickup was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital with what appeared to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Charges are pending and the investigation continues.
