[ARCHIVED] MPD to thank community for social media support with goodie bags

The Midland Police Department is thanking the community for its support after recently marking a social media milestone.

This week, the MPD Facebook page surpassed 10,000 “likes” and it continues to grow. In an effort to show their appreciation to the community, MPD officers will give away goodie bags to ten random citizens they come into contact with while on duty. The Facebook page was launched in November 2014 to enhance the lines of communication with citizens and our community partners, and it’s developed into a successful tool ever since. The community has played a vital role in helping to disperse information as well as solving numerous active cases such as robberies, burglaries, and other serious offenses.

Press releases, traffic alerts, tips, photos and more are shared on this social network as well as Twitter. Citizens are encouraged to like the Midland Police Department on Facebook or follow @MidlandTxPD on Twitter to stay informed with the latest news from MPD.
