[ARCHIVED] MPD to hold testing for officers

The Midland Police Department will hold a physical and written examination to fill vacancies in the upcoming academy for police officers at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 4.

All eligible applicants should report to the Midland Police Department front lobby located at 601 N. Loraine with a valid photo I.D.

The requirements for the position are:

Physical Fitness Test
Minimum 30 sit-ups Minimum 25 push-ups 1.5-mile run in less than 14:46
Written exam

Sixty college credit hours are required, but applicants with less may still qualify depending on past years of military, police, jailer or corrections experience.

Individuals wanting to test must bring a valid photo ID. Candidates meeting the requirements will first take the fitness test. Those that pass will then take the written test.

Applicants are also asked to apply online prior to testing.
