[ARCHIVED] Public meetings to discuss federal funding for community development

The City of Midland has scheduled public meetings on March 8 and 10 to receive feedback from residents on how federal dollars should be spent to benefit low and moderate income areas of Midland.

Eligible activities for Community Block Development Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development include housing rehabilitation, sidewalk and street improvements, park improvements, code enforcement, lot clearance, economic development, and public services. The City expects to receive $712,799 for the upcoming fiscal year.

The meetings will take place on the following dates:

March 8

Meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.

Casa de Amigos (1101 East Garden Lane)

March 10

Meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.

MLK Community Center (2300 Butternut Lane)
