The City of Midland has collected this month's sales tax revenue from the State Comptroller's Office.
The total amount of revenue received was $2,648,022.
This month's figure reflects a 22.41 percent decrease, or a $764,882 decrease, from March 2015.
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2015-2016 is down 19.7 percent, or a $4,755,327 decrease, from last year's totals at this time. Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $19,380,104.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; March collection is based on January sales.
