The coalition will observe NCVRW with a ceremony to remember and honor crime victims in the Midland area at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12 at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel (117 W. Wall St.).
From April 10-16, the national Office of Victims of Crime helps lead communities throughout the country in their annual observances of NCVRW by promoting victims’ rights and honoring crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf. The week also celebrates the achievements over the past 30 years in securing rights, protections, and services for victims. The Midland Crime Victims Coalition will focus on engaging the community to grow with law enforcement, build trust and empower victims. Midland Police Sgt. Jimmy Young will also be receiving an award for his work with the group.
