[ARCHIVED] Midland man killed in fatal accident over weekend

A Midland driver was declared deceased following an accident involving four vehicles on Saturday morning.

Michael Menasco, 44, was traveling westbound on Andrews Highway in a Buick LeSabre when he ran a red light at the intersection at Midland Drive. His Buick was struck by a northbound Dodge bucket truck operated by an Oncor employee, who was faced with a green light. After the impact, the two vehicles struck two southbound-facing vehicles that were stopped on the north side of the intersection.

Midland Police and Fire Departments responded at approximately 8:16 a.m. to the scene of the accident, where Menasco, who was the only occupant of the Buick, was pronounced deceased. There were no other injuries in the collision and it is unclear at this time why Menasco entered the intersection while faced with a red light. Next of kin have been notified.
