The City of Midland has collected this month's sales tax revenue from the State Comptroller's Office.
The total amount of revenue received was $3,412,850.
This month's figure reflects a 14.37 percent decrease, or a $572,744 decrease, from May 2015.
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2015-2016 is down 19.18 percent, or a $5,984,740 decrease, from last year's totals at this time. Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $25,212,985.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; May collection is based on March sales.###
