A Midland man was charged with murder after his missing common-law wife's body was found Tuesday morning.
Juan Gonzales, 44, was charged with murder after police obtained a warrant for his arrest late Tuesday afternoon. The Midland Police Department had been conducting a thorough investigation into the disappearance of 41-year-old Kathy Lujan since Gonzales reported her missing on May 14. At the time of his arrest for murder, Gonzales was being held in Midland County Detention Center under unrelated charges. Statements made by Gonzales to police led them to the location of Lujan's body around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and his subsequent arrest. Lujan's body has been sent to Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy and the investigation continues.
