[ARCHIVED] MPD invites residents to attend Citizen Police Academy

The Midland Police Department is accepting applications for the Citizen Police Academy that will begin on Sept. 6.

The Citizen Police Academy is a 36-hour course designed to give Midland citizens a working knowledge of MPD. Officers will give lectures and demonstrations and provide hands-on learning opportunities for participants.

Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for six weeks. There is no registration fee and the Midland Police Department provides all classroom materials.

Interested individuals can fill out applications available on the city's website at or call 432-685-7582 for more information. Applications are due by Aug. 31.
