[ARCHIVED] MPD recovers thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen property

Midland Police Department recovered several items of stolen property and arrested two men Monday evening in connection with multiple residential burglaries.

MPD responded to a burglary in progress and shots fired at approximately 3 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Crenshaw Drive. The two suspects were identified as 42-year-old Willie Sampson and 46-year-old Clarence Lovell, and police believed they had been involved in several other residential burglaries. Police located the suspects at their residences in Midland later that day and took them into custody.
Officers recovered multiple items of stolen property totaling thousands of dollars from both residences, including the handgun that was fired at Crenshaw Drive.

The investigation into this case is ongoing. If you have been a victim of a residential burglary, contact MPD at 432-685-7108 to file a report. Individuals with reports for items found in connection with this incident will be contacted by a detective.
