The City of Midland is seeking input from local residents and users of Washington Park regarding proposed renovations and park amenities.
The Parks and Recreation Division will hold a neighborhood meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at the Washington Park White House facility (1702 East Wall).
The project, which is still in the planning stages, will be funded through Community Development Block Grant funds approved in 2013. A large portion of the $175,000 that was approved will first be used to renovate the park’s existing pavilion structure. The remaining funds may be used for additional shade in the playground, a new surface in the playground, renovating the tennis courts, covering the basketball courts or a multitude of other options. Input from residents at this meeting will guide the decisions to prioritize future improvements at Washington Park.
