Midland residents are invited to join their neighbors and the Midland Police Department for coffee and conversation from 9-11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10 at the recently opened Brew St. Bakery located at 4610 N. Garfield St.

The MPD will hand out free gun locks to the first 100 attendees, which were donated by Project ChildSafe, in order to help citizens better protect their family and belongings. Brew St. Bakery will also hand out samples of some of the restaurant’s pastries and coffee.

The "Coffee with a Cop" program allows citizens and police to come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee. The program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members, one cup of coffee at a time.

For more information, please call MPD Community Relations at 432-685-7582.
