[ARCHIVED] City invites families to "Fishing in the Park" event

Parents are invited to get their kids hooked on fishing at the City of Midland’s Fishing in the Park event on Saturday, Nov. 12.

Hosted by the City's Parks and Recreation Division, this free event will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at C.J. Kelly Park (5500 League Dr., behind Lowe's).

The event is free and Texas Parks & Wildlife will not require that participants in the event have fishing licenses due to an exemption filed by City officials. Prizes will be awarded in four age groups: 6 years old and under, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12. Participants must provide their own fishing poles.

For more information, please contact the Parks and Recreation office at 432-685-7379 or by email at jajolly@midlandtexas.gov.
