Drainage Improvements:
City crews will continue making drainage improvements at the intersection of Mathis Street and Concho Drive. Mathis St. will be closed at Concho Dr. to through traffic while valley gutters are being installed. During the project, traffic will be detoured through adjacent streets.
Concrete Median Repair on Illinois Avenue:
City crews will begin repairing the damage to the concrete median next to the hospital on Illinois Avenue at O Street. Lane closures will be necessary during the project but east and west bound traffic will be maintained.
Fiscal Year 2016 Mill and Inlay Project:
The contractor working for the City of Midland will begin the Fiscal Year 2016 Mill/Inlay Project the week at South Midkiff Road between Industrial Avenue and Interstate 20. North and south traffic will be maintained throughout the project but drivers in this area should expect delays as lane closures will be used on Midkiff Road.
COMPASS Project on Terrell Street:
The contractor is currently working on Terrell Street from Gist Avenue to Longview Avenue. Terrell Street is now open to through traffic. Contractor may set up work day lane closures to be able to complete the remaining sidewalk, curb ramps, scupper and embankment.
COMPASS Project on Rhode Island Avenue and South N Street:
The contractor will be setting up barricades on Rhode Island Avenue from South Garfield Street to South L Street and on South N Street from West New Jersey Avenue to West Carter Avenue. In this area, the contractor has begun grading operations and access to businesses may be interrupted during the day.
Beal Parkway Paving Project:
The contractor is working within the newly proposed alignment of Beal Parkway from Audie Court to Blue Haven and Leisure Drive to Thomason Drive. Contractor may set up work day lane closures to be able to demolish and install the remaining sidewalk and curb ramps. Paving operations are scheduled to start soon after.
Briarwood Avenue Paving Project:
The contractor is currently working along Briarwood Avenue from Avalon Drive to Holiday Hill Road. The contractor moved traffic onto the new pavement. Temporary driveways are available to access affected businesses on the north side of Briarwood Avenue.
I-20 Bore Project at Midland Drive:
The contractor will be working at the intersection of the I-20 Frontage Road and Jasmine Drive as well as north I-20 Frontage Road directly across from this intersection. Access to Jasmine Drive may be restricted at times due to construction activity and may include brief, temporary full closures of the road.
Utility Extension Program on Loop 250 Frontage Road:
The contractor will perform construction along the eastbound Loop 250 frontage road between Tremont Avenue and Henry Koontz Boulevard. There may be temporary lane, road, and intersection closures during construction.
Midland Center Utility Work:
The contractor will perform work along Main Street between Ohio Avenue and Wall Street, and along Wall Street from Main Street to Loraine Street. There will be lane, intersection, and road closures during construction.
